Biography
Marco Ricci, born in 2001, began running at the age of 4 in the San Valentino district of Velletri, Italy. Today, he trains at the Fiamme Gialle sports centre in Castelporziano outside Rome, as he moves towards the most promising phase of his athletic career.
In 2022, Marco made his debut with the Italian national track and field team, achieving outstanding results. He won two gold medals at the Under 23 level in the 100m sprint and 4×100m relay at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara on September 10th and 11th, 2022.
The sprinter from SSD Nissolino Sport received a crucial communication for his athlete credentials, as he was called up to attend the National Training Camp for athletes to determine the starting line-up for the 4×100m relay (winners of the Olympic gold medal in Tokyo). He will run alongside great names of today’s athletics, including Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs.
His personal best in the 100m is 10.30, achieved on August 6th, 2022 at the Brazzale Quarto Meeting in Vicenza. For the 200m, his personal record is 21.15, run in the final of the CDS Assoluto Serie A Bronze held in Palermo on September 18th, 2022.
But Marco Ricci also regularly competes in outdoor contexts. During one of his latest outings, at the 2023 Italian Indoor Championships in Ancona, he set his personal best record of 6.70. In the same competition held in the Marche capital between February 18th and 19th, he won the bronze medal in the Promesse category (Under 23).
In 2020, he joined the SSD Nissolino Sport team, starting a new chapter in his athletic career.
