Biography

Born on 1 January 2007 in Segrate, Elisa Valensin is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most promising athletes in Italian track and field, specialising in the hurdles and sprint events.

Career and Progress

2016: Begins her athletics career with Società Ginnastica Milanese Forza e Coraggio.
2017: Moves to ASPES.
2022: Under the guidance of coach Fausto Frigerio, she wins the Italian U16 title in the 300m hurdles.

2023: A breakthrough year for Elisa:

• Joins Atletica Bergamo 1959
• Takes silver in the 60m hurdles at the Italian U18 Indoor Championships
• Wins gold in the 4×200m at the Italian U18 Indoor Championships, setting a national record
• Claims gold in both the 400m hurdles and the 4×400m at the Italian U18 Outdoor Championships
• Sets the Italian U18 and U20 records in the 4×400m alongside teammates Caporali, Vaccari and Volonterio
• Wins silver in the medley relay at the EYOF in Maribor, setting an Italian record
• Competes at the European U20 Championships in Jerusalem, reaching the 200m final

2024: Her rise continues:

• Sets the Italian U18 and U20 indoor records over 200m
• Wins the Italian 200m title, further improving the U18 and U20 records
• Takes gold in the 4×400m at the Italian Indoor Championships, contributing to a national U20 record
• Sets the Italian U18 record over 150m in Modena

2025: Record-breaking form:

• Having just turned 18, she shatters the Italian U20 indoor 400m record with a time of 53.04
• Sets the Italian U20 and U23 bests over 300m

2026: On top of the world

• At the World U20 Championships in Eugene (USA) she wins the gold medal in the mixed 4×100m relay alongside Edwin Fermin Galvan, Francesco Pagliarini and Kelly Doualla.
• The Italian quartet crosses the line in 41.21 — a new World U20 record in the event — ahead of Great Britain and the United States.
