Biography
Cristian Volpato is an Italian professional footballer with Australian citizenship, born on November 15, 2003, in Camperdown, Sydney, to a family of Italian origin.
Developed in Australia through the youth systems of Sydney United 58, Sydney FC, and Western Sydney Wanderers, he transferred to AS Roma in January 2020. After progressing through the youth academy, he made his Serie A debut on December 4, 2021, at just 18 years old, scoring his first top-flight goal on February 19, 2022, against Verona. In June 2023, he moved to Sassuolo.
A versatile forward, he excels as an attacking midfielder. A natural left-footer, he stands out for his technique, vision, and physicality. He can also be deployed on the right wing or as a box-to-box midfielder, and is dangerous both from outside the box and on set pieces.
At international level, he represents Italy, with appearances for the Under-19 and Under-21 national teams.
